Dear Friends,
India is a democratic and constitutional country because its laws are based on our Constitution. It is through our Constitution that individuals are granted fundamental duties and rights. With these, a person can contribute to their personal development, society, and the nation. However, no citizen can truly progress unless they are educated. Education is the jewel that grants humanity to a person.
In India, both private and government teachers play a crucial role in shaping society and serving the nation. They provide equal knowledge to all sections of society, helping people become self-reliant. Teachers dedicate their entire lives to service, yet private teachers face more challenges than government teachers. Despite doing the same work, they receive unequal pay. While government teachers have constitutional recognition, private teachers do not have any such identity in the Constitution.
To address these disparities, the Indian Private Teachers Association (IPTA), a social service organization, is working across the country for the upliftment of private teachers. Compared to government teachers, private teachers contribute significantly to all four pillars of democracy—Executive, Legislature, Judiciary, and Journalism. It is private teachers who selflessly prepare candidates for national service, ensuring the smooth functioning of our legal and administrative systems. Even aspirants for prestigious exams like UPSC are trained under the guidance of private teachers.
Thus, it is undeniable that private teachers play an invaluable role in the field of education. However, it is unfortunate that in such a vast democracy, private teachers are not acknowledged in the Constitution. Just as there is a Bar Council for lawyers and a Press Council for journalists, there should also be a special recognition for private teachers through legislation. It is now imperative to amend the Constitution and establish an Act for private teachers.
Therefore, we, on behalf of all private teachers in the country, urge the Government of India and all its ministries to create a constitutional act to provide identity and recognition to private teachers.
Benefits for You:
- A nationwide community of private teachers.
- Employment opportunities such as cottage industries and part-time jobs for teachers.
- No child should remain unemployed or deprived of higher education, which will be available in voluntary fee-based schools (IPTA).
- Registered teachers will receive free medical treatment from the government treasury in case of an accident.
- Insurance plans, Ayushman health cards, and other government benefits for private teachers.
- Implementation of a national teacher honor scheme for private teachers at both state and central levels to ensure recognition for over 5 million private teachers in India. The contribution of private school operators towards self-reliant India is commendable, and they deserve proper acknowledgment.
Thank You!
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Parmanand Modi
